Membership General

Shifnal is a private members club, which means the club is owned and run exclusively by and for the members. For many years we have had a waiting list but in common with other clubs in the area this has recently come down and waiting time to join the club is now relatively short, both for men and ladies.

There are various types of membership but the the main ones are:
- Full Playing Member, Lady or Gent
- Social
- Junior

Applying for membership

New members applications need to be proposed and seconded by two existing club members. If this presents a problem please contact the Secretary to discuss.
Following completion of an Application Form (contact Secretary) the prospective member is invited for interview, provided that a vacancy currently exists. If there is a waiting list the applicant is usually advised of the potential waiting period and included on the list.

What do you get?

As a full playing member you get to use the course as often as you like subject to available booking times. You can also use the practice facilities at any time.

In addition to the course there's our club house which you are always free to make use of. Members get a discounted rate on all alcoholic drinks, so you'll find the club house makes a very good local! Social events are organised throughout the year - details of these are posted in the clubhouse and in the members web site.

Men, ladies, seniors and juniors all have their own sections in the club, and will do their best to ensure that you are made welcome and quickly become an active member of the club.
