Note; 150 yard markers are to the centre of the green |

Hole 1 |
An attractive start requiring a cut shot to achieve the ideal position. Bunkers protect the green to the front and right. Behind and left of the greens is out of bounds. |
Hole 2 |
Par 5. Presents a birdie opportunity for big hitters. Relief can be obtained from the road up the middle of the fairway - check local rules for details. Bunkers protect the green on both sides. |
Hole 3 |
Par 4 that can be reached by the biggest hitters in the summer. Beware the bunker on the left to catch your drive! |

Hole 4 |
Another hole capable of being reached by big hitters in the summer. But there's plenty of danger, not least the bunkers spread across the middle of the fairway to catch a well hit shot. |
Hole 5 |
A slight dog leg to the right, requring a straight drive to avoid the trees lining the fairway. A bunker protects the right front of the green. |
Hole 6 |
One of the most challenging holes on the course. Avoid the large pond on the right but don't get too far left else you'll struggle to approach the green. |
Hole 7 |
The first par 3. Protected by bunkers on both sides of the green. (Note, if you hit the telephone wire with your tee shot you must play another without penalty) |
Hole 8 |
A gradual dog leg to the right - watch out for the bunkers with your drive. Beware the green - it "slopes to the Wrekin"! |
Hole 9 |
Index 1! A sharp dog-leg requires a skilful tee shot to get in position for a long second shot to the green. If you walk away with a par 4 (par 5 for the ladies) you can congratulate yourself. |
Hole 10 |
A long par 3 but with a low index to compensate. Higher handicaps need to take care of the bunkers protecting the approach to the green. |
Hole 11 |
An attractive hole, heading towards the M54 and Shifnal village. Not too many threats (index 18) if you discount the pond on the right. Big hitters will want to try for the green, but watch out for protecting bunkers. |

Hole 12 |
Dog leg left. Presents a birdie opportunity provided you get your tee shot into position. |
Hole 13 |
Shifnal's signature hole with views across the pond back to the club house. Are you good enough to get over the pond? |
Hole 14 |
A long par 4, index 2. Keep it up the middle and you should be alright. Long hitters should watch out for the semi-hidden bunker on the right, ready to catch your tee shot. |
Hole 15 |
Par 5 with a slight dog leg left. Ideally keep your tee shot to the right (watch that bunker!) so you're in position for your next shot - to the green perhaps? |
Hole 16 |
Back up the hill for a long par 4. Requires a good drive to the left side of the fairway if you want to attempt a shot to the green with your second. |
Hole 17 |
A tricky par 3 requiring a well hit shot over protecting bunkers. Uphill, so take an extra club and add another one if the flag is on the back of the green. Out of bounds to the left and back of the green. |
Hole 18 |
Nearly home! Take a moment to enjoy the fine views across Shifnal countryside. Out of bounds on the left makes this a card distroyer - only consider going over the corner if you think you've got what it takes. Captain's charity bunkers add a financial incentive to be careful with your shot to the green. |
